Dates back to 1906, the Great Mosque of Djenné is the largest historical mud mosque in the Sub-Saharan region.

Works for maintenance involve all the community of Djenné which renders the surface of the mosque with a mixture of soil, water, rice bran, shea butter and baobab powder

protecting the mosque ahead of the rainy season.
